Photos from the 2004 Grandfather Mt. Highland Games,

July 8-11, 2004

Chief Malcolm leading the opening ceremonies with Mel as Standard Bearer

Clan Sinclair is Here! was the cry that was heard from the field, as President Donald Sinclair represented Clan Sinclair USA at the Calling of the Clans Torchlight Ceremony.  That was not a beginning for Clan Sinclair nor was it the end as Clan Sinclair continues to break new ground with enthusiasm, fellowship, and a spirit from the past, forging into the future, confident of who we are and where we are going.  The Clan has arrived!

Here-here!  Lift a cup for the Clan.  If you missed this one, you missed a great time.  Of course there will be others.  I have prepared these pages and photos to give just a glimpse of the good time had by all as Clan Sinclair "took the mountain".

SIX PHOTO ALBUMS:  CLICK HYPERLINKS BELOW FOR PHOTOS:

Wednesday-Friday:  Wednesday - fellowship before the activities begin and Malcolm, Donald/Gloria, and Mel/Lynne attend a special banquet for the Board of Directors and their guests.  Malcolm becomes a hit at once!  We were received very warmly at the banquet and thereafter.  Thursday - Tour and errand day and an informal "get together".  Clan members continue to arrive.  The activities started with the Torchlight Ceremony in the evening (no photos of the ceremony).

Friday - the Games Open and it was probably the busiest Friday on record!

Friday Evening:  Many Clan members attended the Sponsor's Banquet in the evening.  Clan Sinclair had two tables reserved, front and center, beside the Board of Directors.

Saturday was the busiest of times with the Clan meeting, with Group Photos, and Reception for the Chief, with Isla St. Clair entertaining.  Malcolm, Rory, and John Spore (Piper with Isla) bring in the Haggis.  Rory explains Burns epic poem and our very own Clan Chief addresses the Haggis.  What a great evening with good friends.  Thanks Sindy Barker for the fine party!

There are three albums for Saturday:

Sunday, More Clan Members arrive, Parade of the Tartans and Closing of Games

I hope that this gives an idea of a fun filled week for the Clan.  If you weren't there, we missed you.  If you are pictured and you want to be named on the website, please send my your name and the photo.  I try to be a little careful about putting names on the website.

Don't forget to visit the Games Report and to sign my guest book (above link).

Aye,

Mel Sinclair, Commissioner, North-South Carolina
